Test Prep by State
All new MLOs are required to take the National SAFE Exam with Uniform State Test content. This satisfies both the national and state testing requirements for nearly all state licensing authorities. Only four states do not accept the Uniform State Test portion of the National SAFE Test, but require additional state testing. Those states are: Minnesota, South Carolina, Utah, and West Virginia.
Note that MEC's test prep materials are based off of the NMLS-issued outline for the SAFE exam, not the actual test questions, as those are never disclosed by the NMLS. Mortgage Educators & Compliance does its best to provide you with testing materials that will help you to be successful, but cannot guarantee the questions given on the test.
